How It Works
The calculator uses your device’s current date to count how many days remain until the end of the year. It includes today in the count — so if today is December 31, the answer is 1. On January 1 the calculator automatically switches to the new year.
Leap years are handled without any configuration. A leap year has 366 days instead of 365, so January 1 of a leap year starts with one extra day compared to a regular year.
Days Remaining by Month in 2026
The table below shows how many days are left in 2026 as of the first day of each month. 2026 is not a leap year, so the year has 365 days total.
| Starting Date | Days Left in 2026 |
|---|---|
| January 1 | 365 |
| February 1 | 334 |
| March 1 | 306 |
| April 1 | 275 |
| May 1 | 245 |
| June 1 | 214 |
| July 1 | 184 |
| August 1 | 153 |
| September 1 | 122 |
| October 1 | 92 |
| November 1 | 61 |
| December 1 | 31 |
| December 31 | 1 |
How the Breakdown Is Calculated
Below the main days figure, the calculator shows three additional units:
- Months — the remaining days divided by 30.44 (the average number of days per month), rounded to the nearest whole number.
- Weeks — the remaining days divided by 7, rounded to the nearest whole number.
- Hours — the remaining days multiplied by 24. This assumes full 24-hour days.
These figures are approximate but useful for planning how much time remains in the year at a glance.
